Pastor Matthew McEwen and his wife Joy have been serving at Holt since 2006. They have three children, Naomi, Eden and Micah. Joy leads a children of God moment at each service, and she also ran a LEGO club for a few years.
Pastor Matthew is so happy that his church loves him despite being an avid Montreal Canadiens hockey fan.
Aside from hockey, Pastor Matthew enjoys Lego, doing karate with his son, fishing and being an avid keeper of fish. As a “fisher for men”, Pastor Matthew has a passion to see his church committed to prayer, life together, and growing in their personal walks with God so that they can serve their family, friends, and community.
He holds a Bachelors degree in English from the University of Ottawa, an M.Div., Th.M. and D. Min (doctorate of ministry) from Tyndale Seminary. He is also a certified thanatologist and offers grief care on an individual and group basis as needed.
